If you are serious about website promotion to Increase Search Engine Visibility, you have to use both paid and free website promotion methods. If you want quick results, then paid methods is the best.

1. Pay per click advertising: One of the easiest paid methods is known as pay per click advertising, or PPC. One of the best examples of pay per click advertising is Google AdWords. The way that it works is that you create a text or graphical ad in Google AdWords. You then tell Google Adwords how much you want to spend per day, and the approximate cost per click that you're willing to pay. Then Google well distribute your ad across their publishing networks (which are basically websites that have opted to display Google ads).

As visitors sees and clicks on your promotional ad, the ad will take them to your website. And you pay Google a certain amount for each click that was generated. The nice thing is that if no one clicks on your ad, you pay nothing. So in effect, you are paying for the actual traffic that the ad had brought you.

2. Forum signature links: As for free method, you can use forum signature links. When you participate in web forums of your interest, many forums allow you to add a link to your website at the bottom of each forum posts. This is known as a signature link.

If you make good contributions to the forum, people will read your post and notice your promotion website link.

3. Social Networking: Social networking these days are hot. Facebook is the leader in social networks. So you must participate in Facebook. The more active you are in Facebook and the more friends you have, the more visitors will come to your Facebook Profile. The Facebook Profile would be where you would promote your website.

Besides Facebook, there is Twitter, YouTube, StumbleUpon, and others. The idea is the same. The more interaction with others on the network. The more likely they will see your profile, and hence the link to your website.

4. Blogging: Blogging is another way to promote your website. There are free blogs and paid blogs. You can set up a free blog at Wordpress.com, Blogger.com, Tumblr.com and a few others. Then there are paid blogging platforms such as TypePad.com. Or you could host your own blog where you would have to pay for your domain name and web hosting.

As your blog traffic grows through word of mouth and linking, more and more people will know about your blog. Some may even follow your blog on their RSS readers. Every so often you should blog about your website as promotion. Your blog should also have an about page where you would promote your website there as well.

Blogging also gives you search engine traffic because as you post articles or blogs. They will sometime be found by search engines, which brings new traffic to your blog and hence your website.
